Eight Years Before Lifetime Health: This image was taken in June 1975 at age 32 and shows me at about 340 pounds. My appearance is typical of how I looked most of the time between 20 and 40 years of age. My weight fluctuated between 290 and 350 pounds during those years, with brief excursions down to 245 pounds |
Two Years With Lifetime Health: I started the Optifast part of the Lifetime Health program in October 1983 and fasted until February 1984, losing about 105 pounds or so. This image was taken in June 1985; about 16 months after I returned carefully to normal eating under the Lifetime Health Maintenance program. My weight was still under 240 pounds but I soon realized that I needed to lose even more to get where I really belonged. |
Three Years With Lifetime Health: I started the Optifast part of the Lifetime Health program for the second time in October 1985 and fasted for six more weeks, losing about 35 more pounds for an overall total loss of about 135 pounds. This image was taken in July 1986; about 6 months after I returned carefully to normal eating under the Lifetime Health Maintenance program. My waist was 34” and my weight was 201 pounds, which I eventually determined was too low for me. |
Fifteen Years With Lifetime Health: This was taken on a cruise ship in July 1998 and shows me at 219 pounds, after about 12 years of managing my eating and exercise under the general principles of the Lifetime Health Maintenance program. My weight fluctuated between 210 and 230 pounds over these years and I returned to Lifetime Health every few years for the Tune-Up program to revive the eating and exercise skills needed to maintain my ideal 220 pound weight. |
Twenty-Three Years With Lifetime Health: This was taken in July 2006 and shows me at 212 pounds, about 19 months after my last Tune-Up visit to Lifetime Health and after about 23 years of managing my eating and exercise under the general principles of the Lifetime Health Maintenance program.. I have always enjoyed an Optifast shake as part of my breakfast every day since first starting my Lifetime Health maintenance program. |
Thirty-Four Years With Lifetime Health: Currently, in April 2015, my weight is 225 pounds (39” waist) after about 31 years of managing my eating and exercise under the general principles of the Lifetime Health Maintenance program. I am moving slowly back to 220 pounds after several months of significant exercise interruptions for eye surgery. My weight has fluctuated between 216 and 228 pounds over the ten years since my last Lifetime Health Tune-Up visit. Although I have not needed a Tune-Up for ten years, I continue to visit Lifetime Health regularly to purchase Optifast for my daily breakfast protein shake. |
